As for a game that is all about creativity, we should be able to disable track restrictions, since they do the exact opposite of their original purpose. Track restrictions: All coasters have arbitrary track restrictions that should keep us from clipping or making 'unrealistic' coasters.
Being able to place roll nodes that determine the banking at any given point on the track, combined with the continuous-roll option gives us full control over our track shape. Right now banking and spline positions are all tied to one node which can be very restricting in how you want to shape your track. Track banking: Tying in with the two above points, track banking should be independent from the spline nodes. Right now making changes to the track can be a pain because it is not possible to change the rotation and tilt once the node has been placed. Nodes: we should have full control over the nodes once they are placed down. To make the banking transitions smooth, we need a continuous-roll option (which is essential for a spline based track system). To fix this, the smooth-all button should only smooth the spline itself, not the banking. Smoothing: right now smoothing is the weakest part of the coaster builder. What I like to see improved/changed are as follows: I am not saying it is bad, because it is not, and due to it being a spline system it has a lot of potential, but right not because it is so minimalistic it doesn't reach this potential. It is just a simple spline-system but lacks almost any tools that give us control over the spline to make an actual decent coaster. I disagree with the coaster builder being advanced. I'm not the most creative person, I like the management aspect of these kinds of games and thats definitely something this game is kind of lacking right now. Those two changes would seriously revitalize my interest in this game. Let me move some sliders around for water, hills, valleys, foliage etc to give me unique starting terrain that I have to work with.
Wooden coasters are my absolute favourite coaster to make because they're so massive and look fantastic for a park skyline but they're very deep into the "tech tree" so its usually not possible to make until you're already established.Ĭan we also get a terrain generator tool instead of just the six biomes we have now? I personally find the most enjoyment out of working with what I'm given, rather than a gigantic empty flat square to "sandbox" in. I want to start with something other than another american arrow.
Randomize that shit a little bit, please. All starting tech is the same, all research is in exactly the same order. But every single challenge mode runs exactly the same. The challenges are irrelevant, i just like the management component - its effectively sandbox but with actual "gameplay" involved, even if its not that difficult. I seriously hope its some kind of changes to Challenge mode and the environments we start in.Ĭhallenge mode is my favourite mode.
